A New Generation Marketer

Having been on Twitter for many months now and having a Twitter Grade of 95, I find myself truly immersed in Twitter trends and have listed my observations below. Twitter has truly become a new way of networking and interacting with people, and I love it for that exact reason. It is such a simple tool that you can use for essentially any purpose you want, from following celebrities to networking to meeting a future girlfriend/boyfriend.

You are a true Twitter user when you…

1. Unfollow a company the second they try to sell something to you
2. Hate when a company DM’s you a clearly automated thank you message for following them
3. Hate when a company DM’s you an advertising message soon after following you
4. Love to share the link love between your contacts
5. Meet people attending an upcoming event on Twitter first
6. Tweet constantly during an event
7. Unfollow spamming companies immediately
8. Check your Twitter Grader on a regular basis to see how powerful you are becoming
9. Use #hashtags #whenever #appropriate to #interact with more #people
10. Have a Twitter application on your smart phone to contantly keep up-to-date with the Twitterverse
11. Check-in at every place you go and tweet it out to Twitter
12. Participate in #FollowFriday, #MusicMonday, #MarketingMonday, etc.
13. You know that articles shortened to bit.ly get the most retweets
14. You tweet during webinars to interact with other viewers
15. Hate the Twitter Whale information overload when you are trying to do something
