At KDMedia, it’s important that both sides feel there’s a good “fit.” That’s a squishy word, but it’s one of those things where you just know.

We work with clients to solve some of their most demanding problems and challenges. New markets, busy audiences and growing marketing opportunities require a respectful and open mutual partnership between KDMedia and our clients. That’s what we’re looking for when it comes to fit.

We’ve had the privilege over the past several years working with dozens of incredible companies — early and late stage startups alike. From that work, we’ve learned a great deal about what makes a great partnership. Transparency is one of our core values, so here’s a look at some of the criteria we typically apply when evaluating whether a potential client is a good fit:


VC-Funded Early to Mid-Stage Startups

While we have worked with several very early-stage startups, we’ve found the most successful partnerships to be with startups that are VC-funded with a secured Series A round or beyond.

Why? We’ve found that at this stage, companies are at a point in their trajectory where the product, market and audience has been validated (to some degree) and there is usually dedicated budget to test and grow a variety of marketing channels.

At KDMedia, we place immense importance on developing a holistic content marketing program. This means we look to implement and scale multiple marketing channels and tactics at once that nurture the top, middle and bottom of the funnel, leading to your best route to conversions. Because of this approach, we ask that our clients be at a point where they can invest in this level of marketing on a regular basis.  

Dedicated Internal Contact

Once you sign on with KDMedia, you will have a primary point of contact for all your needs, questions and anything else that comes up. We ask that our clients also designate a main point of contact for us. Nothing can slow down a successful partnership more than a diffusion of responsibility, so we like to set in place an established point of contact on both ends.

Get-Stuff-Done Attitude  

We don’t shy away from the impossible, in fact, we encourage it. We’re a perfect match for clients who are all-in and ready to get moving and see results. If you like to run through brick walls, are open to testing, experimenting and taking the time to find out what really works, we’d love to hear from you.

Ongoing Commitment

Content marketing isn’t a one-and-done deal. In fact, it can take 6-12 months to really call yourself a content publisher. It is important that our clients are committed to this timeframe and willing to experiment and learn what’s working (and just as important – what’s not working). While some marketing consultants offer one-off pieces of content billed on an hourly basis, we operate on a retainer basis which allows us to think long-term while also letting us be flexible to change as quick as your needs do.

Bonus Points: You’ve Already Set Up Marketing Channels

While certainly not a requirement before you begin working with KDMedia, if you do have some marketing channels set up and you’ve started testing out strategies, we can hit the ground running much faster with you.
